“My husband was working during the day and then going to work on our house rebuild from Hurricane Sandy at night. I was 5 days overdue, and scheduled for induction the next morning. He got home to our rental house at 9:30 at night exhausted and starving and made himself a plate of leftovers. About 10 minutes later, I went into labor. My doctor told me that 2nd deliveries tend to go quicker. And it did. My firstborn took about 8 hours from onset of labor to her birth. This little guy was here just shy of 5 hours. I think I pushed for about 30 minutes. It was intense. The epidural helped, but that ring of fire is no joke. I remember being petrified of having to give birth again. But then after, you realize, you’d do it again in a heartbeat.” -Audrey
