We called the doctor, but they said wait, because it was New Years Day and the doctor was busy with family. They actually asked me in the early part of the pregnancy if they wanted to induce in order to get the tax deduction for that year. I said no way and the baby will come when the baby is ready. So we were timing contractions. They were closer and closer. We went to the hospital with our 2 older children but we decided to get them to my parent’s house. I was set up in a delivery room. The doctor barely had her gown on, and they were saying the baby is coming out! We didn’t want to find out the sex beforehand. She was born at 12:23 a.m., on Monday, January 2, 1989.” – Debbie
